    Dear,
I am having trouble with the feature in Name that Tune, that displays the song lyrics in a scrolling mode over the screen.
Instead of the lyrics, it eamch time shows the websit url of lyricsfly.com.
Tried it on two Win7 PC’s
    Can you help ?

  • riesm:

This is a known bug (probably related to a changed external API). I will try to fix this and update the application on the server (so it will automatically install the new version). Give me a few days though.

    Cheers,

  • Ruben:

I’m having trouble with the playlists feature. I created 2 playlists, one containing 176 songs, the other 212. It has come to attention that a lot of the same songs are being played. Also, when pressing the “check how many items” button, it states that the playlists contain 62 and 97 songs. Weird?

  • Ruben:

Also, the button gives different values everytime AV name that tune is launched. Just now it gave values 58 for playlist 1 and 94 for the other.

    • riesm:

Hi Ruben, Name That Tune will check all files in a playlist to validate them. Artist names that contain “various” or “unknown” are filtered out. So are tracks named “track 1″ etc. If any of the artist, title or album fields are empty, Name That Tune will also not take these files into account. Name that tune will try to prevent duplicates by keeping its own “already played” list based on artist and title. However, any small deviation in an artist or title is different and the track will be played again. So, my advice would be to check all tracks in Windows media player and make sure that all tracks are correctly tagged.

A new version was just release which no longer uses the corruped lyrics module.

    Hello,

ich recently found your wonderful software and instantly loved the way it gives access to to so many sources of music while playing. I´m still unregisterd user. There is a serious issue while running the programm on my notebook (Win7, wmp12). It is impossible to use the play next button whitout opening a window that says the programm has crashed.. Apart from this function and message other functions seem to work. But seems not to be stable.

There is so such problem on my destop pc (win XP wmp 12)
    Yes .net framework is updated.

The thing is: I would really much like to use this software for an upcoming party. But it has to
    run on my notebook.

Are ther known bugs or a newer more stable version? I´d really like to buy and register this software but not if it´s not stable enough.

Please give me a good advice what coul be the reason for the crashes.

    Thank your for support.

    Markus

Hello Markus, I make an assumption here that you are talking about “Name That Tune”, since you are posting in that section (but your talk about registration might indicate you have problems with AV Mix Master). In any case, I would like to know the version number of the software you are using. The rest of the suggestions is based on the problem being with Name That Tune.

It is difficult to say what could cause the crash on your notebook, however here are some suggestions you may want to check out:
      - Your media library could be corrupted (see this site to rebuild it)
      - Your audio drivers may be faulty (can you check for updates on the audio drivers?)

I must admit though that Name That Tune might have some glitches here and there. Most of them have to do with internet access not being open or corrupted libraries. But here are some further troubleshoot mechanisms: You mention a window that is opened with an error message; any details on that error message? If you don’t click “Play Next”, does it crash elsewhere? And if so, what were you doing? What are your media selections? Does it happen with “All Music” with 3 stars? Can you always reproduce? Did you uninstall Name That Tune and then reinstall it (might help)? What version of Name That Tune are you running?

I really would love to help you, but it is rather difficult to do so based on your information (although you were very thorough on your system specs :-) ). Perhaps you can answer these questions and I might have an idea where to look in the code and perhaps fix it.
